The company

The manufacturer of steel cutting tools, Werkzeugfabrik Albert Krenn, is situated in Neusäß near Augsburg, in Bavaria.
It is a medium-sized company with a tradition of more than 60 years. The company was founded in 1947 for fabrication of technical springs and meanwhile has established itself in the European market as the most multisided provider of steel cutting tools. Next to the manual steel cutters, KRENN also offers pneumatic and electro-hydraulic tools, battery-driven or electrically operated, to customers in the home country as well aas abroad to the specialized trade as well as to the industry specialized in the production and processing of wire alike. The product line furthermore comprises special tools for the cutting of chains and wire ropes.

Our production plant in Neusäss lies on the western outskirts of the city of Augsburg which was founded by the Roman Emperor Augustus more than 2000 years ago.

Augsburg is the hometown of the incredibly rich family Fugger who built one of the world’s first social housing developments, the so-called “Fuggerei”.

But also Leopold Mozart, the father of the great composer, and the German poet Berthold Brecht lived in this city. And who hasn’t heard of the world-famous puppet theater called the “Augsburger Puppenkiste”?

Not far from the Bavarian capital Munich, the city of Augsburg with its fascinating renaissance buildings and magnificent fountains lies in the heart of Bavaria on the Romantic Road.

From here it’s only a stone’s throw to the legendary castles of King Louis II.
