KRENN - Our history

The Albert KRENN tool factory in Neusäß near Augsburg in Bavaria was founded in 1947 to manufacture technical springs. Shortly after the company was founded, manual bolt cutters were developed alongside the technical springs. These were initially sold for the company's own use and eventually also through specialist dealers.
Our market-wide innovation were the steel cutters with the innovative "three-edge interchangeable blade", which are still sold today and were developed by the company founder. Our market-wide innovation was the steel cutters with the innovative "three-edge interchangeable blade", which are still sold today and were developed by the company founder.

In the 1970s, we concentrated our production on cutting tools. Over the decades, we expanded the steel cutter range with sophisticated tools and equipment, so that today we offer all types of cutting equipment with different drives: manual, electro-hydraulic with mains connection or battery drive, hydraulic and pneumatic. Since 2015, the high-quality hydraulic KX steel cutters, straighteners and test presses have also been part of the KRENN range. Founded in 1935 in Homberg, Germany, KAMAX is a global technology leader in the manufacture of high-strength fasteners for the automotive industry and has been producing hydraulic cutting tools, straighteners and test presses since 1954. In order to focus on its core business, the company decided to hand over the "steel cutters and test presses" division to KRENN, which took place on May 1, 2015.

KRENN presents the most versatile range of steel cutters in Europe and cuts construction steel, wire, chains, packaging straps, threaded rods, tensioning strands, spring steel, wire ropes and steel-reinforced cables. Our customers include the specialist trade, the construction industry and the wire-producing and wire-processing industry at home and abroad.
